The Classroom City project is a simulation where students create a city in their own classrooms. The students learn about business and economics by creating a working city, This project is adapted from the book written by Rod Stark, Copyright 1995, Interaction Publishers, INC., DBA Interact, ISBN- 1-57336-224-7
The fourth grade teachers at Pleasant Valley Elementary in Wichita, KS have taken this project and integrated technology. Three classrooms are participating in this project, Mrs. Dill, Mrs. Martinez and Ms. Snodgrass's class have set up their own city. The students have created a city name and a flag to represent their city. Each student has been given the opportunity to create and run a business in the city as well as become a city official. Some city officials are appointed and others are elected.
