Clark and L'Ouverture Elementary Awarded TRC grant, June 2009

Technology Rich Classrooms Facilitator

Clark and L'Ouverture Elementary schools in Wichita, KS were awarded the EETT grant. Two classrooms at Clark and two classrooms at L'Ouverture will join the four other TRC schools in the district. They were very excited to join the other TRC schools. This will be a new and exciting adventure for these four teachers and their students.

Anderson Elementary Awarded TRC grant, May 2007

Anderson Elementary in Wichita, KS was awarded the EETT grant. It will join the four other TRC schools in the district. They were very excited to join the other TRC schools. Rebecca Anderson, the facilitator for the grant said, "“We know technology is what motivates kids in great ways. Many students do not have the opportunity to work with computers at home. The grant will help bridge the gap for those students.”

Five teachers from Irving Elementary, Emily Pezzola, Linda Gresham, Shannon Banta, Heather Blake and Christy Hedden will have the opportunity to present at the MACE conference in Manhattan, KS. They are planning on sharing how they integrate technology in their classrooms through the equipment and supplies they received in 2005 from the Technology Rich Classroom grant. They are also going to share all the amazing tools they use to help them integrate technology in the classroom like www.4teachers.org and the use of iPods to improve students’ oral reading fluency. Pleasant Valley Elementary Elementary hosts a TRC day in November

On November 21, 2006 PVE in Wichita, KS hosted a TRC day where the four grant classrooms welcomed pre-registered visitors to view the grant in action. PVE received the grant during the 2006-2007 school year and is off to a great start. Many of the visitors were interested in applying for the grant and commented that the teachers are really doing a great job integrating technology into their current curriculum.

Cloud Elementary hosts a TRC day in November

On November 14, 2006 Cloud Elementary in Wichita, KS hosted a TRC day where the school welcomed pre-registered visitors to view the grant in action. Cloud received the grant during the 2003-2004 school year and has tried to implement a Technology Rich Building, fostered by the principal, Carla Smith. Many of the visitors were very interested in the implementation process of the grant and asked questions about that process. One of the visitors asked Carla what she thought was the most important piece of the grant and her response was that the professional development was key to the success of the grant. She went on to say that without direction from the facilitator the technology would have not been as effective.

Pleasant Valley Elementary awarded the EETT grant
In April of 2006, Pleasant Valley Elementary was awarded the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) grant from the state.
